Our Opinion:

A wonderful and well written novel. As a major Halo franchise fan, as a kid, I really enjoyed learning about the Master Chief and growing up to become a strong killing machine! If you’re a Halo fanatic like me, and you want to learn more about the Halo Universe back stories, this book is a must-do.

For one of my sons, I bought this. He has lent it to another son who refuses to read. My reader hater has begun to read, and now he has read all of them. I’m so glad about that.

Our Opinion:

The book read this very nice narrative, then played the game. We all know how the storey ends, but the fun section is like reading the game story and how they get there.

  • Publisher: Dark Horse Books
  • Publication Date: June 5, 2018

It builds pretty much on that little intro that the game had for the Banished leader and fleshes out Atriox more as a character.

A superb read. The books in Halo can be so variable in quality. This is either clearly the best or the best joint Halo book I’ve read to date.

A number of renowned illustrators come from the impressive drawings, and even the internal art team of 343.

Book Author:

Located in Kirkland, Washington, 343 Industries is an American video game developer. For Halo: Mythos, including full-color paintings by Darren Bacon, David Heidhoff, and Chase Toole, the design art team at 343 Industries contributed several drawings.

Our Opinion:

It’s a big, quick fire, a compilation and anthology of the universe and lore of Halo. It is a nice read and looks very good. It cannot beat the thousands of pages of ordinary novels out there, of course, but it is amazingly well crafted and a great gift for someone who is even mildly interested in the Halo universe.

This book provides a consistently impactful and heartfelt tone from beginning to finish, doing justice to each canon character from the games in their portrayal and interactions with each other. Well advised.

Book Description:

The Office of Naval Intelligence faces old grievances emerging again to threaten Earth, with the Covenant War over. Even with scores to settle from the rebellion put on hold for thirty years, the furious, bitter colonies now want revenge, and so does a man whose life was ripped apart by ONI when his daughter was kidnapped for the SPARTAN-II programme. How far is Kilo-Five going to go to stop him? And will he, when he discovers it be able to live with the truth?

Our Opinion:

This novel does a good job with the Kilo 5 Trilogy sewing up. In their current positions, the principals are resolved, challenges begin to circulate with the remnants of the old Covenant, and all are positioned for the next adventure. I’m going to enjoy rereading this one.

Quick information:

  • Author: William C. Dietz
  • Publisher: Tor Books
  • Publication Date: February 28, 2012
  • Pages: 432

Book Description:

Master Chief and Cortana, engaged in a furious ground war, go deep into the Halo Construct to discover a dark secret; this mysterious ring world is also the most dangerous weapon in the universe. Its objective: to destroy all sentient life. The Halo was designed for the Forerunners to fight the most vicious adversary of the world, a nearly invincible and unexpectedly revived entity known as The Flood.

Book Author:

The bestselling author of over thirty books, some of which have been translated into German, Russian, and Japanese, is William C. Dietz. He grew up in the Seattle area, spent time with the Navy and Marine Corps as a medic, graduated from the University of Washington, lived in Africa for half a year and has traveled to six continents.

Our Opinion:

William C Dietz is a well-established author who in the War hammer book series raised the expectations and the bar. As a talented poet, he stood out and is no exception here. He beautifully weaves an elegant narrative from the Halo games around the confines of the actual game play. He suits the plot line of the Games perfectly and manages to compose a convincing and intriguing tale that superbly compliments the game.

Quick information:

  • Author: Peter David
  • Publisher: Gallery Books
  • Publication Date: June 16, 2015
  • Pages: 369

Book Description:

After a decisive battle on Setup 00, the massive, extragalactic Forerunner build known as the Ark, over two decades after the Master Chief went missing-in-action as part of the last chapter in the bloody thirty-year battle of humanity against the Covenant’s overwhelming forces, it is 2555. But since there is tenuous harmony between the people and the Elites, a shocking scientific breakthrough is made… along with the enigma that supports its origins in the Forerunner.

Book Author:

Peter David is a prolific writer whose career spans more than twenty-five years, and his continuing success. He has operated and gained follow-ups in all imaginable media, including television, film, books (fiction, nonfiction, and audio), short stories, and comic books.

Our Opinion:

What caught my attention was the summary of the book and made me want to reorder it. It was a reasonably well-done plot, full of quick speed and action. If you felt the ark was destroyed in the activation of installation 04, you were mistaken. Installation 00 is online and ready to fire and an expedition to stop the rings from firing is led by humans and elites.

Due to the original graphical integrity, it was originally so popular, being a launch title for the original Xbox, and being around until the show could be hogged by CoD.
