Casio SA-76 44-Key Mini Personal Keyboard

Wassily Kandinsky once said, “Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, and the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul.”

Italy’s Bartolomeo Cristofori (1655-1731) created the piano. Cristofori was dissatisfied with the lack of control musicians had over the harpsichord’s volume level. In the year 1700, he is credited with replacing the plucking mechanism with a hammer to create the modern piano.

The instrument was originally known as a “clavicembalo col piano e forte,” which translates to “harpsichord with delicate and strong sounds.” This was abbreviated to “piano,” which is now a common name.

In Western classical music, pop, jazz, rock, film, television, and electronic game music, as well as most other complex western musical genres, the piano is an essential instrument.

It has also replaced or supplemented the conventional church organ as the primary instrument in many churches. The piano is frequently utilized as a tool for composition, such as solo piano compositions because a huge percentage of composers are good pianists.

Popular piano works include Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” and “Moonlight Sonata,” Mozart’s “Turkish March,” Chopin’s “Prelude in a Major,” and ragtime pianist Scott Joplin’s “The Entertainer.”

In the aftermath of World War II, Casio was created in 1946 in Japan. Tadao Kashio, the company’s founder, began by making mechanical parts. By 1949, he had enlisted the help of his brothers, who were experts in electronics, and they had begun producing calculators.

Our Opinion:

I am currently a retired Professor Emeritus of Music at the age of 65, and I recently purchased this Casio SA-77 keyboard to iron out the harmonic (and even contrapuntal) nuances of new songs that I seem to be producing more frequently now that I am retired.

This keyboard will undoubtedly assist me in doing so. The keys are large enough for me, and it comes with a useful sound library and volume control. I’m excited to use it instead of relying on my inner ear to figure out all of the subtleties. I can still do that, but the keyboard has the potential to make my work more interesting.

FAQs:

What is the name of the black keys and white keys on a piano?

Natural notes are played on the white keys, while sharps and flats are played on the black keys.

What are the names of the seven musical notes?

The chromatic scale is used by the majority of musicians. There are seven main musical notes in the chromatic scale: A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. They each indicate a different pitch or frequency.

What causes the yellowing of piano keys?

After a cleaning, expose white piano keys to indirect sunlight to prevent them from yellowing. Keep in mind that if plastic keyboard keys are exposed to sunlight, they can discolor, so keep them covered while not in use.

What are the materials used to make black piano keys?

The black keys are constructed of ebony or another black-stained hardwood.

What is the origin of the name “ivory” for piano keys?

They started using Ivory from elephant tusks on the keytops of the white keys since it was a more durable material. Ivory made the piano appear more attractive and felt nicer to play than wood, in addition to being more durable.

In music, what is the S-shaped thing?

Staccato marks can appear on any note, decreasing the duration of the performance without speeding up the song. This means the note should be played at a faster rate than staccato. It’s most commonly used on quarter or shorter notes.

What is the name of the black key to the right of G?

The black key to the top right of G, in other words, is “in between” the notes G and A.
